Needless Allies has experience in delivering a wide variety of both educative and performative projects. Our work is high quality and progressive.
Our current, ongoing work under the banner of Needless Allies is…
an interactive performative tour engaging key stage one and two in the history of Birmingham and its prestigious Town Hall. The pupils are challenged to solve the mystery of the missing organ pipes! The Town Hall organist has lost her musical notes and needs help so she can play once more. The performance enlists pupils to become special detectives to delve deep into Birmingham’s past, interview colourful characters and collect the clues to ensure the Town Hall organ is heard again.
Town Hall History Hunt is a partnership with Birmingham Town Hall Symphony Hall’s Education Team and has been running every academic term since 2010. To deliver this performance we work with Needless Allies Associate Artist Amy Taylor and the THSH Organ Scholar.
“The children were totally engaged in the different activities! It was great for a school project on Birmingham history. Brilliant learning content and valuable outside-the-classroom experience.
